The Morellini Foundation

The Morellini Foundation is an exhibition dedicated to Moroello Morellini a Cesena doctor and art lover. He did not only work locally, but also at the Roman hospital "Istituto Forlarini" for thirty years, and also abroad. The collection entitled to him was created in 1966 thanks to an initiative on the part of thirtytwo arts, painters and sculptors convinced about honouring their friend, who had died young at the age of fifty eight. The artists organised an exhibition which was inaugurated in Rome at the "Galleria Levante" and then transferred to Cesena.

The works were then donated in turn to the Cesena Municipality, in order to give concrete boost in the creation of a future Civic Art Gallery. The artists who have generously donated works are: Claudio Astrologo, Marcello Avenali, Corrado Cagli, Antonio Cardile, Sebastiano Carta, Eliano Fantuzzi, Pericle Fazzini, Nino Franchina, Nino Gasparri, Alberto Gerardi, Emilio Greco, Lorenzo Guerrini, Renato Guttuso, Mario Mafai, Marino Mazzacurati, Giuseppe Mazzullo, Roberto Melli, Mirko, Sante Monachesi, Luigi Montanarini, Eraldo Mori Cristiani, Franco Muzzi, Alberto Natili, Giovanni Omiccioli, Domenico Purificato, Amedeo Ruggiero, Alberto Sartoris, Giulio Turcato, M.
